Easyconnect helper fails with invalid allocation size

When trying to connect from my iPad to my desktop system via easyconnect and VNC, EasyConnectHelper.exe gets an MSVC++ Debug Error "Invalid allocation size: 4294967295 bytes." It provides options to Abort, Retry, and Ignore.  None of them do anything useful.  Retry, cause the helper program to crash.  Nothing useful appears in the log file (I have attached it).

I have, what I believe is the latest release of EasyConnect.  Although it's hard to tell, because when I press the "About/Check for Updates" menu option, nothing happens. I downloaded originally on 10/19/2010.  The latest download exe is the same size as the one I initially downloaded.

If the error still says "EasyConnectHelper", then you did not uninstall the previous version. At this time, the old version must be uninstalled manually. Use Control Panel: Programs: Uninstall a program (Win7/Vista) or ControlPanel: Add/Remove programs (XP), and select Antecea Easy Connect 1.0.16 (beta) adn uninstall it. This should not affect the new version.
