I have just purchased your most expensive app on iTunes, Cloud Connect Pro, and I must say that so far, I've been completely appalled by the app and the documentation that is intended to support it.
Opening the app on my iPhone, I'm met with the main screen with the heading "Computers". There follows a list, with the headings __'s iPhone, Bookmarks, Easy Connect, Saved Places, and Network Places.
Under Network Places, my MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion) appears. Below it, the term AFP appears. Any attempt to connect to the computer via this method (by clicking on this option) is has been utterly futile - the app crashes immediately. I have tried upwards of 30 times and it simply crashes immediately, every single time. As far as I can see, there is absolutely nothing in any of your support documents that clearly instructs users how to connect via a WiFi network, or how to overcome problems related to it.
On launching the app after a crash, the following notice appears on the iphone screen:
Along with 3 options: Always_Send, Send, and Don't_Send. There is no explanation whatsoever for this cryptic message. I presume it is some sort of crash report, but as appallingly designed as much of the rest of the app.
Having given up trying to connect to my computer via this method, I decided to try the Gmail Easy Connect method.
I downloaded Easy Connect, from your website. Extraordinarily, your own website provides an outdated version (1.5, which causes problems when used with Lion, I believe), and I had to manually update to 1.8 when I realized this.
On my computer, Easy Connect accepts my gmail login details with no problems.
On your app in my phone, it says "Gmail account signed in as XXXX" (my gmail username). Below that is my computer's name.
When I try to connect to the computer by clicking in this section, it takes me a second screen, where my computer's name is listed at the top, and below that two buttons "Connect As..." and "Share Screen..." Clicking on either button brings up a login screen.
This login screen is terribly designed. It has "username", "password", and "save password" on/off.
NOWHERE ARE WE TOLD what username and password are required! WHY is this so? I have tried my gmail account username and password, and another combination that I created. Absolutely nothing works! When I click login, the connect as button momentarily says "connecting..." and then the message turns up in red: Failed: Permission denied. I tried everything I could think off, even momentarily disabled my antivirus/ firewall, all to no avail.
I have wasted two hours trying to get this app to work as advertised, and reading the so called support documents on your website, but have been very, very, disappointed. Is it really so difficult to put together a simple, straightforward set of instructions on just the basic operation of your app? Not a single document/FAQ I can find, not even your youtube videos, appears to even so much as mention the login screen for Easy Connect.
You charge a premium for your app, USD 25.00, but it has completely failed to perform even a single one of the advertised tasks (on my phone and computer). I should like your assistance with solving these technical problems with the app; in the event they are not, it is only fair that I'm given a full refund.
